WHAT IS COLLOIDAL SILVER?
(i) Colloidal silver may be described as microscopic particles of pure silver suspended in distilled water. Ranging from .001 to .015 microns in size, the particles carry a low positive charge of electricity which enables them to keep suspended and pass through all human membranes.
Colloidal silver particles are invisible to the naked eye, but can be seen by projecting a focused beam of light through the liquid.
The laser ray or light beam, invisible in clear air or pure water, will trace a visible path through a genuine colloidal suspension, like a headlight through fog. Known as the Tyndal effect, this can be used to verify that what you are buying is actually a colloidal liquid.
COLLOIDAL SILVER HISTORY
The use of silver as a germ fighter and disinfectant has been known for centuries. The wealthier members of earlier societies sometimes stored their drinking water in silver containers. Silver coins were often placed in milk and other perishable liquids to preserve them. Silver has long been a favored material for the fabrication of eating utensils. Colloidal silver was well known as a germ fighter in the earlier part of the 20th century, but due to costly manufacturing methods, the price was prohibitive. In the
1930's people were paying as much as $100.00 an ounce. This led to the search for cheaper ways to kill germs.
COLLOIDAL SILVER VS ANTIBIOTICS
As modern pharmaceutical companies rose to power, they responded to the need for cheaper ways to fight disease with antibiotic drugs. These drugs were highly effective on a narrow range of bacteria, and very inexpensive to make. The medical community was encouraged to prescribe them exclusively, even though a given antibiotic drug will effectively kill only six to eight different micro-organisms, and in spite of the fact that these germs can eventually develop strains that are immune to the drug.
The uncontrolled use of antibiotics in some third world countries where they are available as over the counter medication, is producing strains of super bugs that are highly resistant to antibiotic drugs. There is a definite danger of future plagues because of this.
It is a well known fact that modern hospitals are dangerous places, due to the presence of highly resistant strains of bacteria resulting from the constant use of disinfectants. The weaker germs are destroyed, but a few of the strong survive to breed hardier strains. Thousands of people die each year as a result of exposure to antibiotic resistant bacteria contracted in hospitals.
This problem does not exist with colloidal silver. Colloidal silver is effective on over 650 viruses and bacteria, and resistant strains do not develop. Although colloidal silver is now much less costly to manufacture, it is ignored by most of the medical community, due to the fact that it is not a patentable product, and the large drug companies have no commercial interest in it, even though they are well aware of its power. There is currently under way an attempt to patent colloidal silver, which in the writer's opinion is a non-starter. Other than specific formulas containing more than one single colloidal calculated by differnt ratios and at differing strngths could be a patentable colloidal formula (such as those proprietary Specific Formulas tm. created and unique to Alchemists Workshop); but a modern standard regular colloidal has been in the paublic domain for over a hundred years.

WHAT'S NOT WIDELY PROMOTED IN THE PUBLIC MASS MEDIA! 10.10.01
This is a very dificult article to put together and write. There is so much true and important information out there. Most buried in old books, manuscripts, and old scientific journals and published medical and scientific papers. Most were written during the entire 20th century during which time many were rewarded with Nobel Prizes for their work and conclusions on the use of colloidal silver and its effects on all manner of illness and disease. So for those of you that have the time, endurance and curiosity to probe deeper into this fascinating subject, we have prepared the following digest of information.
Taken from print and electronic media it is some times repeated and appears duplicated as various sources draw upon one another to put their case. So have heart and follow the trail of information. It's worth it! The first part is the shortest and starts with the some of the published and recent reports.
Science Digest March 1978 (Silver, the Mightiest Germ Fighter)
Silver kills over 650 disease-causing organisms, and resistant strains fail to develop.
Silver is the best all-round germ fighter we have, and it is absolutely non-toxic! Doctors report that, taken internally, it works against syphilis, cholera,malaria, diabetes, and severe burns. Richard L Davis executive director of the Silver Institute, which monitors Silver technology in 37 countries, reports the following:- In four years we've described 87 important new medical uses for Silver;
Karolinska Institute, Sweden. Dr Bjorn Nordstrom has used Silver in his cancer treatment method. He says his method is simple. It has brought rapid remission of patients given up on by other doctors.
FDA (USA Governing body) The FDA has stated that because Colloidal Silver is accepted as a pre-1938 Medicine. It may continue to be marketed.
In a letter dated September13th 1991 from Consumer Safety Officer, Harold Davis British Medical Journal (Colloidal Preparations of Silver in Pharmacy) February 1923.
Pure Silver is entirely non-irritant. In tests at very high concentrations, it has been shown repeatedly that the rapidly exerted disinfectant action is of considerable therapeutic value.

Provo Herald February 13th 1992 (pg. D1) 'Colloidal Silver as a remedy for AIDS.'
Dr Robert Becker Author of 'The Body Electric' Experiments conclude that Silver works on the full spectrum of pathogens without any side effects or damage to any part of the body, and that Silver was doing something more than killing disease organisms. It was also causing major growth stimulation of injured tissues.
Dr. Becker discovered that all cancer cells, in the presence of Colloidal Silver, change back to normal cells. All strains of pathogens resistant to other antibiotics are killed by Colloidal Silver. 'It kills even antibiotic resistant strains and also works on fungus infections. It stimulates bone-forming cells, cures the most common stubborn infections of all kinds of bacteria, and stimulates healing in the skin and other soft tissues'.
He also noted that healing of damaged tissues reportedly increased in excess of 50% the normal rate. Dr Becker made other astounding observations, amongst them was a correlation between Silver deficiencies and disease or the proper functioning of the immune system.
In laboratory tests cancer cells were reverted back to normal, instead of being eliminated. Positive Silver ions (Colloidal Silver) produced a new type of cell that had youthful characteristics similar to those found in young children's bone marrow. These new cells proliferated very quickly that have the ability to metamorphose into any type of cell the body needs it to become to repair damaged organs, bone or tissue; the effect is as apparent in people over 50 and poses the question as to whether this is a bodily process that is stunted or dormant when there is a deficiency of mineral silver and or positive silver ions

BRIGHAM YOUNG findings Unpublished results of tests carried out by Dr. Ron Leavitt, Professor of Microbiology and Dr. David Revelli, micribiologist at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, found the following:-
( i) Staphyloccocus aureus (pneumonia, boils, impetigo, cellulitis and post operative wound infections, osteomyelitis, TSS, meningitis, food poisoning) were inhibited by colloidal silver at 2.5 ppm and killed at 5ppm.
(ii) Shigella boydii (bacillary dysentery) inhibited by colloidal silver at 1.25ppm and killed at 2.5ppm.
(iii) Salmonella arizona (food poisoninig) inhibited by colloidal silver at 2.5ppm and killed at 5ppm.
(iv) Salmonell typhimurium (food poisoning, enteric fever) inhibited and killed at 2.5ppm.
( v) Escherichia coli (food poisoning, urinary/resparitory tract infections (UTI/RTI), diarrhoea, wound infections, inhibited and by colloidal silver at 2.5ppm.
(vi) Haemophilus influenza (otitis media, pneumonia, meningitis, epiglottitis, sinusitis, sappurative arthritis in children) inhibited and killed by colloidal silver at 1.25ppm.
(vii) Streptococcus pneumoniae inhibited by colloidal silver at 2.5ppm and killed at 5ppm.

Unknown to Brigham Young and unaware of the other university's research, the above tests were virtually duplicated at the University of North Texas with almost the same results, again as yet not published.
EFFECT of COLLOIDAL METALLIC GOLD on Cognitive Functions: A Pilot Study - 2001 Guy E. Abraham, MD; Souhaila A. McReynolds; Joel S. Dill, PhD Optimox, Torrance, California ABSTRACT:
In order to evaluate the effect of colloidal metallic gold on cognitive functions, the revised Wechsler Intelligence scales battery of tests (WAIS-R) was administered to 5 subjects aged 15 to 45 years, before, after 4 weeks on colloidal gold at 30 mg/day and again 1 to 3 months off the gold preparation. The WAIS-R total scores (I.Q) were calculated by adding the sum of the verbal test scores to the sum of the performance scores.
After 4 weeks on colloidal gold, there was a 20% increase in I.Q scores with mean + SE of 112.8 + 2.3 pre gold and 137 + 3.8, post gold (p <0.005).
Both the performance and verbal test scores contributed equally to this increase in I.Q scores. The effect of the colloidal gold persisted in 3 subjects after 1 to 2 month off gold, where as in 2 subjects who took the tests 3 months after stopping the gold , I.Q scores were down to baseline levels.
